Hindås Christmas Fair 24 November 2018

The first snow of the year came just in time for the Christmas Fair and with it came plenty of visitors, longing to get into the festive spirit.

Gunnel, Kerstin and Clare were kept busy at the stall from 10 am until 3 pm. Generous donations enabled us to offer our popular chocolate, homebaked cake and card raffle, Rubens Barn dolls and cards for sale and of course we sold tickets for our Arts & Crafts raffle that continues until the draw on 7 December.

This year Hindås glass artist Mia Branzell created a stall with an angel theme inside the Station. There she had an exhibition of angels by children from Hindås school and was also selling her and fellow artist Mia Frankedal's glass angel of the year, "Birgit Nilsson". To enhance the angel theme she had made lifesize wings that visitors could stand in front of and be photographed, with the suggestion that adults donated 20 kronor to ChennaiSmiles. We thank Mia for this kind initiative and the many angels who donated!

We are most grateful to all the generous benefactors and voluntary helpers who enable us to send 100% of the proceeds to the education of underprivileged children in and around Chennai, Tamil Nadu, South India.
